Andaman & Nicobar Islands, they are thinly populated islands with religious and cultural diversity that rivals mainland India. This jail was built by the British to torture Indian freedom fighters, the most famous among them being Veer Savarkar. The cellular jails are a pilgrimage for Indians and history buffs. After the cellular jail, visit Asia’s oldest running saw mill—the Chatham Saw Mill. It was built by the British in 1836. This saw mill is connected to the island through a bridge, which happens to be the second largest wharf in the Andamans.

Understand the marine life around the Andaman and Nicobar Islands with a visit to the Naval Marine Museum. This museum is run by the Indian Navy and it provides the historical and geographical information about the islands. The museum also displays various sea shells, coral colonies, and fish.

Bird Islands of Andaman and Nicobar Islands

The southern end of Andaman Islands has the Chidiya Tapu. It’s famous the world over for its glittering beaches, green environment, and its red horizon. This site is also famous for its excellent snorkeling locations.

Another islands located nearby are the Baratang and Jirkatang islands. These islands are home to the Jarawa tribe and numerous parrot species. You can see them return back to the islands at sunset.
