A Foodie’s Guide to Havelock

Here’s the thing about food and travel. They both go hand in hand. While some explore travel to understand the rich history and culture of a new place, then there are those who simply move to ends of the earth to experience the infinite flavours the world has to offer.

And so here we are, to guide your starving stomach and curious taste buds to Havelock Island’s best places it has in store for you when you visit Andaman. While each of the restaurants have a wide variety of sea foods which is an important element in the island’s food culture, there are those few gem of a restaurant which offers the world on a platter for you. And today we will feature those must try food places.

  1. B3 – B3 – Barefoot Bar & Brasserie
Come here to unleash your inner Joey Tribbiani. They have some of the best pizzas to offer. And if you love to gobble down hot plate of pasta, B3 serves some of the best handmade pasta you could have ever had.
  2. Full Moon Cafe
Run by an Irish Indian couple, you will most definitely enjoy the food and the ambience it has in store for you. With their extensive menu ranging from Indian, Mexican to Italian, you will want to try their seafood and salads though. They are the most popular out there.
  3. Fat Martin’s
It isn’t as unhealthy as it sounds. This well-known open-air and modest looking cafe has a menu slightly different from most of the restaurants. It has good selection of Indian food. However our recommendation; Paneer tikka Dosa and Nutella Dosa. And yes it is as delicious as it sounds.
  4. Rony’s
You up for some authentic seafood experience? Rony’s is the answer to all your prayers. They have some of the best seafood curries to offer.
  5. Anju Coco
Considered as the most happening place on this unusually quiet island after dark, it has a varied menu. However their most ordered favourites are the big breakfasts and BBQ fish. A heaven for seafood lovers, it offers great value for money. P.S. Remove your shoes at the entrance!
  6. Red Snapper
With its rich ambiance and polished bamboo decor, it is known as one of the most famous seafood fine-dining restaurants in Havelock. Get ready to gobble some fish, crab or lobster with a glass of your favourite drink. This restaurant is one of the few places in the island that offers drinks on the island.
