1.Druk Path Trek

Lasting about six days, this trek is considered a great introduction to the terrain of Bhutan. It starts in the Paro Valley and moves on to Thimphu while reaching heights of 2,000 meters along the way. It makes trekkers traverse through alpine forests with pine trees, rhododendrons, and lakes. There is a surprise waiting for trekkers as they reach closer to Thimphu. They will be treated to the breathtaking views of Mount Gangkar Puensum, which the tallest mountain peak in Bhutan, and most probably the highest unclimbed mountain in the world!

2.Bumthang Owl Trek

This three-day trek is good if you do not have too much time to trek. It passes through lovely bamboo and rhododendron forests that are a haven for bird watchers. There is even a chance to spot a black bear or two! It starts at Dhur village and passes through Drangela Pass, post which you can visit the Chuedak Monastery.

3.Snowman Trek

Spanning 25 days, this may be one of the toughest treks in the world. It starts in Paro and continues up until Lunana in North Bhutan. It takes you through the region between Bhutan and Tibet and passes 11 high passes along the way. It is definitely not for the faint-hearted!

4.Jhomolhari Trek

Famous for giving trekkers a glimpse of Mount Jhomolhari, this trek stretches for eight days and passes through Bhonte La pass, which is situated at a height of 4,890 meters and Takhung La pass, which is at an altitude of 4,520 meters. Mount Jhomolhari overlaps the border of Bhutan and Tibet and is called ’The Bride of Kanchenjunga.’ You can even visit the villages at its base to learn about the locals’ culture and way of life.

5.Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek

This is a slightly difficult six-day trek that takes you on a tour of the pristine alpine lakes of the region while treating you to magnanimous views of peaks, which include Everest and Kanchenjunga. It also passes through several villages, offering you a peek into the traditional lifestyle of the locals. At its toughest point, it reaches an altitude of 4,500 meters above sea level!
