Tamil Nadu Travel Guidelines

- Health Screening:
- Not required EXCEPT for tourist from Kerala.
- RTPCR (72 hrs ) or Covid 2 Doses for Tourist from Kerala
- Thermal screening shall be done for all passengers. Passengers originating their journey from any city in Kerala state to any city in Tamil Nadu state shall be mandatorily required to be in possession of RT-PCR negative certificate of not older than 72Hours from an ICMR accredited lab or final vaccination certificate (i.e., both doses complete). RT-PCR timeline starts from the time of sample collection.
- No Health Document required EXCEPT for tourist from Kerala. RTPCR (72 hrs. ) or Covid 2 Doses for Tourist from Kerala
- Covid -ve report required (tested 72 hrs. prior). All entrants who present the Covid -ve certificate at entry point are expemted from testing irrespective of their state of origin. RAT is not valid.
- Entering Via Any Airport Except CJB
- people coming to Tamil Nadu from Kerala and Maharashtra will have to undergo a mandatory home quarantine of seven days. Covid testing to be done to only symptomatic passengers coming from other states/UT/countries. Customers who undergo test on arrival and are:
- No tourists allowed till further notice
- Domestic Passengers:
- If a tourist is entering Ooty/Kodaikanal from anywhere apart from within Tamil Nadu(resident), they have to madatorily carry negative RTPCR report not older than 72 hrs, fully vaccinnated travelers are exempted.
- RTPCR of age 72 hrs before arrival required for People coming from Kerala
- Travellers from other states are allowed to travel in Tamil Nadu
- 07 days of Home Quarantine & 07 days of self monitoring for all passengers arriving into Tamil Nadu from Maharashtra & Kerala.
- 14 days of self monitoring for all passengers arriving into Tamil Nadu from other states/UT.
- Passengers undertaking business trip and returning within 72 hours are exempted from quarantine. In such cases, the individual shall furnish valid return document.
- All passengers travelling to Tamil Nadu shall be required to register on State website and obtain auto-generated TN e-pass - https://tnepass.tnega.org/
- If any passenger carrying Negative Report on arrival, it would be verified by the medical team and decided by the Health officials on Resampling.
- All the Passengers who are travelling to Tamil Nadu from other countries should have negative RT-PCR test report (test taken within 72 hours prior to the arrival).
- For passenger arriving in CJB, following shall apply
- It is advisable for all passengers arriving in CJB to have carry a negative RT-PCR report not earlier than 72 hours. RT-PCR timeline starts from the swab collection time. The same is not applicable for passengers travelling from other cities within Tamil Nadu
- In case the passenger arrives without RT-PCR report, COVID testing shall be done free of cost at the airport and the passengers shall be released after sample is taken. Further action will be taken basis the test result. Customers who undergo test on arrival and are.
- Found to be positive and symptomatic – will be taken to hospital isolation.
- Found to be negative and asymptomatic – will have to undergo for self-monitoring for 14 days.
- Found to be negative and symptomatic – will be taken to hospital isolation and decided based on Medical Opinion.
- 07 days of Home Quarantine & 07 days of self-monitoring for all passengers arriving into Tamil Nadu from Maharashtra & Kerala.
- 14 days of self-monitoring for all passengers arriving into Tamil Nadu from other states/UT.
- Business travellers coming to Tamil Nadu for short stay (less than 72 hours) are exempted from home quarantine. Not applicable for passengers arriving into CJB.
- Symptomatic passengers will be required to go for Institutional Quarantine till the time COVID test results are available, at the discretion of Health Officials. Post which they will be required to complete remaining period of Home Quarantine. All customers coming from other states/UTs/countries are mandatorily required to obtain auto generated e-Pass through https://tnepass.tnega.org/#/user/pass
- Passengers originating their journey from any city in Kerala state to any city in Tamil Nadu state shall be mandatorily required to be in possession of RT-PCR negative certificate of not older than 72Hours from an ICMR accredited lab or final vaccination certificate (i.e., both doses complete). - All passengers must download Aarogya Setu App
- International Passengers:
- All passengers coming from other countries have to undergo 14 days of home quarantine. (During the period, if the individual develops fever, cough, breathlessness they shall visit health facility)
- Passenger obligation:
- COVID-19 Negative Certificate is mandatory while travelling.

- Hotels are Open With 50% occupacny
- Sighseeings are open
- Transfers are Open
- Local Market Open till 8 PM
