As an Indian citizen, you do not require a visa per say to enter the country. You need to carry your passport and voter’s card. If you are planning to take the road, you will, however, require an ‘Entry Permit’ from the immigration office, which is located on the border.
If you do not have a valid travel document, you will need to apply for an identification slip, with a proof of citizenship. There are certain rules that need to adhere to when it comes to places to visit. If your holiday trip contains visiting places other than Thimpu and Paro, you will need special permits, which can be obtained at the immigration office in Thimpu.
