If your Italy holiday is to find serenity, then April to June and mid-September to October is the best time to visit Italy. During this time climate is more pleasant, rural colours are richer, and the place isn't flooded with tourists. The days are slightly warm while the evenings are mild. In short, it is an excellent time for site seeing and experiential holidays. However, if Rome and Florence are on your travel list and you don’t want to burn a hole in your pocket, skip the May-June period.
An Italy holiday package between July to early September is the holiday season and so Italy tends to be crowded. The climate is extremely warm. While you could have the luxury of air-conditioners while indoors, sight-seeing might turn out to be a nightmare.
During August, it gets extremely hot and the weather gets extremely hot. Being the local holiday period, most people also head out to the more pleasant locations for a holiday.
