Places to visit in Frankfurt
Between its Museum District and its churches and cathedrals, Frankfurt has many places to visit. It is the perfect destination to kick off your Europe tour. You can visit Goethe’s house and find some peaceful moments at Hauptwache. Here are some of our recommendations.

Römerberg (Old Town Centre)
Lit up by the evening lights, the Old Town Square makes for a picture-perfect postcard. This pedestrian zone hosts Christmas markets and is home to several attractions. The Historical Museum and the 14th-century Gothic Church are a couple of standouts. Don’t miss this one.

Städel Museum
A part of the city’s museum district, Städel museum is an important art museum that houses art by some of the most well-known masters such as Rembrandt, Goya, Monet and Picasso. This will make a colourful addition to your Frankfurt trip package.

Frankfurt Cathedral
This 15th-century landmark is one of the city’s major attractions. Soaring 95 metres, it is one of Germany’s few Imperial cathedrals. This red beauty is a sight to behold, from the inside and the outside. This should definitely be a part of your Frankfurt travel package.

Frankfurt Zoo
The Frankfurt Zoo is home to more than 4,500 wild animals. Founded in 1858, it is Germany’s second oldest zoo. It has an ape house, a bird hall and an Exotarium that houses animals from different climatic regions. The zoo hosts many themed tours and special exhibits, so make sure you visit.

Grüneburgpark
The Grüneburgpark is Frankfurt’s favourite hangout spot. The rolling green lawns are an invitation to relax and take a break from your Frankfurt tour. Most of the trees here are hundreds of years old. Designed like an English Park, it even has a Korean Garden, complete with Pagodas. This is a part of most Frankfurt tour packages for its simple beauty.

The best time to visit Frankfurt

Late spring (April to May) and early autumn (August to September) are the best times to visit Frankfurt to enjoy a crowd-free holiday. Spring temperatures range between 9°C and 21°C and in autumn they average between 6°C and 21°C. Frankfurt winters are chilly, and summers are crowded. Spring is the time of festivals while autumn is the time for exhibitions and expos.

How to reach Frankfurt

The Frankfurt Airport is the busiest one in Germany and is well-connected with its European neighbours, as well as major cities around the world. There are a good number of direct flights between India and Frankfurt. You can also reach Frankfurt by train from around Europe. The Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof is one of the largest railway stations in Europe. If you have the time to spare, you can take a bus from any European city.
