One of the bravest Sikh warriors, Maharaja Ranjit Singh fought many battles with the Mughals. Also known as the Lion of Punjab, he was the first king of the Sikh empire. His summer palace has now been converted into a museum that preserves his legacy in the form of artefacts. This is one of the most fascinating places to visit in Amritsar.
Gaze upon the comprehensive exhibits of old coins, manuscripts, arms and armour and paintings from Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s personal collection. The paintings give a great insight into the day-to-day life in the palace. It is open daily from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and entry is free.
