Brisbane is one of those places to go in Australia if you’re seeking outdoor adventure. This capital city of Queensland is known for its lovely gardens, a sophisticated arts scene and some amazing restaurants. People however, come here and climb the Brisbane Story Bridge which offers some fantastic sights of the city. The journey up takes two hours while the journey down is considerably shorter if you choose to abseil back down the anchor pier.
If that sort of adrenaline rush is not for you, then head over to the Queensland Art Gallery which has an impressive collection of more than 17,000 works of art. Delicious food in restaurants will keep your palate entertained while the markets and designer boutiques will pamper you with the retail therapy.
There are several gorgeous islands around Brisbane such as Moreton Island or North Stradbroke Island where people come for its scenic and tranquil setting. Brisbane is also home to the Lamington National Park which features prominently on the World Heritage List.
