This hill overlooks the harbour of Barcelona and offers stunning views of the city, especially at sunset, but what many don’t know is that it also played an important role in defending the city during more tumultuous times. Today, it is one of the most exciting places to visit in Barcelona. We recommend that you take the cable car to reach the top – not only will you be rewarded with fantastic views at the peak, but also, all along your journey to the top. Once you’re there, stroll through the Montjuic Castle, admire the Joan Miró fountain and check out the Grec Theather Gardens. If the weather is warm, you may even want to cool off with a dip in the Montjuic Municipal Pool.
