To get to know a city well, you have to soak in some local culture – and what better way to do that than by moving your feet? The Spanish people love song and dance, and Sardana is the traditional dance of the Catalonia region, where Barcelona is located. It is performed by holding hands in a circle and dancing in time to the melody of a Catalonian flute. There are many Sardana contests held throughout Barcelona on Sundays. You can either watch from the side lines, or actively learn and participate – it’s really up to you!
