One of the places to go to in Jaipur is City Palace. Located in the centre of the city, there are huge imposing walls that guard this palace. The architecture is a fusion of Rajput and Mughal styles and there is a keen sense of Rajput pride that emanates from this palace. The 18th century palace has several important sections such as the Chandra Mahal and the Mubarak Mahal. At the entrance to Chandra Mahal, there are beautiful peacock gates but inside the Mubarak Mahal, there is the Diwan-i-Aam and Diwan-i-Khaas, which used to be the gathering place of the royals. There are marvellous crystal chandeliers adorning both halls.
