Among the top most places to visit in Jaipur is Jal Mahal. This is one of the classic monuments, built in the middle of Man Sagar Lake. This palace also fuses Mughal and Rajput architecture and it is built in red sandstone. The Jal Mahal Lake is a five-storey building and four storeys remain submerged under water when the lake is full. The setting of the palace in the middle of the lake makes it appear magical, especially with the backdrop of the mountains. The Jal Mahal is also home to several species of colourful migratory birds such as flamingo, great crested grebe, coot and grey wagtail. The Jal Mahal lights up beautifully in the evenings. Do remember that visitors are not allowed inside the palace.
