Phuket is known for lush rainforests as well as clear waters, and it is one of Thailand’s largest islands. There are 32 islands nearby and it is closest to Krabi. Phuket was one of the areas that was hit by the 2004 tsunami that destroyed several highly populated areas as well as killed more than 5000 people in Thailand alone.
