It’s expansive, spectacularly maintained and one ranks top on most Prague sightseeing lists. The medieval-era castle complex is said to hold the record for largest of its kind in all the world — and it’s less than a mile away from Charles Bridge. You can enter the castle grounds for free, but some of the buildings inside like St. Vitus Cathedral and St. George’s Basilica require an entry ticket. Get there before the daytime rush! A morning visit is best.
Tip: Don’t miss seeing Golden Lane where folklore says alchemists used to live, but historical facts say that renowned author Franz Kafka surely did stay in a house here for a few years.
