Sydney Tourism

Sydney is considered to be Australia’s most beautiful city. With its gorgeous skyline, the harbour, the opera house and a host of other attractions, it’s no wonder that Sydney tourism is always thriving with millions of visitors coming into the city every single year. The weather is pleasant and there are so many things to see and do and places to visit, that tourists here are a happy lot.

Sydney Geography

Sydney has a coastal location and it is bordered by the Pacific Ocean in the east. It’s the capital of New South Wales and is often considered to be Australia’s most populated city. There are around 70 beaches along its coastline and the Nepean River plays a huge role in maintaining the city’s water storage. Sydney’s flora and fauna are interesting as well.

Sydney Climate

Sydney’s climate is supposed to be humid sub-tropical and so the summers are usually warm while winters are cool and there is uniform rainfall throughout the year. Because of its proximity to the ocean, Sydney’s weather is quite moderate, making it perfect for Sydney tourism.

Sydney Tour

Sydney is home to some amazing events, not to forget the New Year’s Eve celebrations that kick off with splendid fireworks lighting up the sky. There are also several markets and music festivals that draw the crowds but those on a Sydney tour would surely not want to miss iconic sights such as the Opera House or a trip to Bondi beach.

Sydney is considered to be a great city for gourmands, and you will indeed be spoilt for choice. Fresh produce and seafood seem to be the mainstay of Sydney’s culinary scene. Apart from sightseeing and activities, Sydney tourism gets a shot in the arm thanks to the many retail outlets and shopping activities it offers.

With its temperate climate, a Sydney tour is perfect no matter what time of the year you choose to visit. There are gardens and parks where you can stroll around or the beaches with their snorkelling and surfing opportunities beckon. There are several other interesting places on the outskirts of Sydney such as the Blue Mountains and vineyards that certainly merit a visit.

Sydney tourism has also developed because of attractions such as the Taronga Zoo and Sea Life Sydney Aquarium which are open for visitors throughout the year. Sydney is a cosmopolitan city and it is also the place with a good number of aboriginal connections. There are several tours and museums where you can glean quite a bit about the aboriginal culture and traditions.
