Things to do in Dharamshala

Wrapped by the cedar forests across the cliffs of the gigantic Himalayan ranges; Dharamshala is one of the most beautiful cities in Himachal Pradesh. Well-known for being the hill side home to the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan government-in-exile, Dharamshala is a favourite holiday destination amongst domestic as well as international tourists.

Amongst the many points of interests in Dharamshala, the Thekchen Chöling Temple Complex is a key spot, as it is a spiritual centre for Tibetan Buddhism with precious manuscripts. Nature is abundantly blessed in Dharamshala. The Dal Lake, Bhagsunag Falls, the tea gardens, makes Dharamshala a perfect hamlet in the Himalayas. It is peaceful and a perfect place to rejuvenate.

Surrounded by the lush green Deodar forests, take a walk to the Dal Lake located just 2 kms from McLeodganj Market. It is a major attraction amongst trekkers and should be on your itinerary for places to visit. Dal Lake is also the base camp for during trekking expeditions. You can even check out the Shiva temple on the banks of the lake.

Take a trip to Bhagsu Falls that also has the famous Bhagsunath Temple of Lord Shiva, a major tourist attraction amongst Hindu pilgrims. The waterfalls are about 20 meters in height with a spectacular view. This makes it a perfect picnic spot after a trek or a drive.
