The Old City in Baku is the historical centre of the capital. It is an important Baku tourist place in its own right and is also home to two major attractions: The Maiden Tower, a twelfth century Zoroastrian tower which serves as a modern-day museum and the Palace of Shirvanshahs, a beautiful fifteenth century palace that has been painstakingly restored to its former glory.
