A plenty of Dalhousie tourist places are design marvels. But none like this 18th CE palace in Surara Mohalla, reminiscent of an unexpected confluence – that of Mughal and Colonial architecture. It was built by Raja Umed Singh. A wide variety of royal costumes, jewellery, décor artefacts, coins, vintage handicrafts and rare scriptures are on display here.
