To travel to European countries, you shall have to make the following arrangements before starting your tour:
First of all, keep your travel calendar ready before you apply for a visa to the EU. Schengen visa covers most of the European countries. While travelling to Europe, apply for the Schengen Tourist Visa for at least 2-3 weeks in advance. If your visa is from a Schengen country, you’ll be eligible to travel to other Schengen countries as well. Apply for your visa from the consulate or embassy of the country you are visiting. However, if London is on your itinerary, you will need to apply for a separate visa, as Schengen does not cover London.
Also, keep other supporting documents ready along with the passport and visa as and when they are required by the officials. Lodging proof, your round-trip or return ticket and an invitation letter (if available) are few of the docs you can keep handy. It’s important to keep your travel insurance ready as you might need to provide it while applying for a visa.
Get your biometrics and medical tests done; to get the biometrics done, you will need to go to the visa office as, since 2015, it is an obligatory practice.
