Some shipping companies do take passengers on their cargo ships, but they often charge exorbitant rates. Fiji hardly features in cruising itineraries. This is the most common way to reach Fiji. The Nadi International Airport is a small airport that serves Fiji for its international flights. The airport is 9km away from central Nadi. The domestic airport that is used here is Nausori Airport in Suva, but there are several regional international connections here as well. There are also other domestic airports throughout the islands. Do note that air fares go up during the months of April and June as well as December and January.
