Weather Conditions in Havelock Island
As the Andaman and Nicobar Islands enjoy pleasant and moderate weather almost the whole year through, anytime is the best time to visit Havelock! However, you should avoid a trip during the monsoons, as most of the islands receive heavy rains and the seas can get rough and unpredictable. This can be a dampener for water sports enthusiasts.
Through the summer and winter seasons, the weather is pleasant and the days are clear, though humid. It’s the best time to visit Havelock Island and enjoy the attractions it’s famous for - sightseeing, water sports, swimming and relaxing on the beach.
Havelock Island in summer (April - July)
Through the summer, across the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, the minimum temperature remains around 24°C and the maximum temperature around 37°C. As the mornings and early evenings are relatively cool, it’s the best time to go to Havelock Island and see the sights. You might want to stay indoors in the afternoons, when it can get uncomfortably hot. For those who love water sports, too, this is the best time to visit Havelock, as the waves are gentle and the water mild.
Havelock Island in the monsoons (July - September)
Havelock Island, like most of the Andaman Islands, usually sees moderate rainfall during the monsoons. But it has been known to receive heavy downpours during the peak season. As the sea waves are unpredictable, tourism tends to be low during this season. The temperature ranges between 22°C and 36°C and the humidity is at its highest level. Though July and August do see tourist traffic, the visitors prefer to avoid water sports because of the stormy seas.
Havelock Island in winter (October - March)
Winters in the islands are quite mild, with temperatures ranging between 20*C and 30*C. Many tourists consider this the best time to visit Havelock Island, as the weather stays pleasant through the day. You can enjoy every form of water sport and beach activity to the hilt during this season, whether it’s swimming, sailing, diving or just sunbathing.
