Everything turns red and gold during the biggest Hong Kong festival in February. Dancing lions and dragons on the streets compete with drums and gongs to create a spectacular event.
Held every June, this is a festival that dates back to the 3rd century. The long narrow Dragon Boats race each other to the hypnotic beat of drums.
Hong Kong is lit up brightly with lanterns and fire dragons while carnivals and fairs add to the air of festivity. Moon cakes are in huge demand at this time.
These festivals are marked by lots of fireworks, colour and an exciting sense of bonhomie that is easily evident everywhere. Right from the streets to the shops and malls where people celebrate these festivals grandly.
