Kowloon is an amalgamation of several Hong Kong elements. There are the glitzy buildings here but there’s a certain old school charm too, although chances are that you will be so absorbed by taking in everything, you wouldn’t notice. One of the top Hong Kong tourist places is The Avenue of Stars, a glittering promenade along the waterfront. Modelled after the Hollywood Walk of Fame, this has around 100 plaques that have the handprints and autographs of celebrities.
Just keep walking and you will come across some film-inspired sculptures which you can pose with. And if you’re there around 8:00 pm, you can stand back and be amazed by the Symphony of Lights. It is the world’s largest permanent light and sound show that showcases the night skyline of Hong Kong with coloured lights and laser beams that create a stunning spectacle. Kowloon is also an excellent place to do some shopping at the Temple Street Night Market or you can head to Jade Market to pick up some jade pieces.
