One of the most important events in Tirupati is the Brahmotsavam which is celebrated every year in September. Every third year, a grander version of the festival is celebrated, and it is called Navratri Brahmotsavam. The festival is celebrated for nine days every year and devotees from all over the country try to attend it.
Kalyanotsavam celebrates lord Venkateshwara’s marriage to his love, Padmavati. It is a seva which is carried out every day at the Kalyanmandapam except on the Brahmotsavam days.
This is yet another festival that is celebrated in February. The idol of Lord Venkateshwara is taken around on seven different “vahanas” (temple chariots) in a procession from morning till evening.
