If you want to reach Vietnam by the sea, then it’s only possible through the Mekong Delta from Cambodia. You can choose to travel either by ferry or cruise, depending on your budget. Vietnam has three international airports – one in the north in the capital city of Hanoi (Noi Bai International Airport), one in Da Nang (Da Nang International Airport) in the central region and one in Ho Chi Minh City (Tan Son Nhat International Airport) in the south. These airports are well-connected with flights from all over the world. There are direct flights from a number of countries across the world.
If you’re thinking how to reach Vietnam by road, then it’s possible from Cambodia and Laos. There are six border crossings from Laos and three border crossings from Cambodia. It usually takes more than 12 hours to travel by road. It’s best avoided unless you want to enjoy the scenic sights on the way.
It’s possible to travel to Vietnam by train only from China’s Nanning and Beijing cities. It’s not usually preferred to travel by train as you can only travel to the north part of the country using train. The Nanning Express stops in Hanoi only. Also, the train is quite slow and hence avoidable.
