Florence has the Amerigo Vespucci airport, also known as Peretola Airport, which is connected to most European, African and Middle East countries. The airport is conveniently situated with easy links to the city centre. The other airport that serves Florence is the one in Pisa, which is actually Tuscany’s main airport. It’s around 80km away from Florence. Travelling to Florence by air is one of the most convenient ways to reach the city, but if you’re already in Italy, then some of the following ways might also work for you.
Florence can easily be reached by train from all over Italy and Europe. There are several train stations in the city although the ones you’d want to know more about are Santa Maria Novella and Rifredi. Santa Maria is close to the Duomo and it is connected to the Eurostar from Milan and Rome while Rifredi is a smaller station close to Florence centre.0020
Travelling to Florence by road is easy as there are good highways which ensure its connectivity to the rest of Italy. There are also several SITA buses which will take you to Florence from other parts of Italy. Buses are considered to be a more convenient option to travel if you’re travelling light.
