Kovalam is one place where you get to witness and experience the finest culture of the world. The rich culture is reflected in the festivals of Kovalam. It echoes a lot about the tradition of Kovalam. While Kovalam celebrates a number of festivals, the famous one is Village Fair of Kovalam which reflects the artistic aspect of the culture of Kerala. It is also known as Gramam. There is also the Elephant Festival, which is a three-day festival and has beautifully decorated elephants with garments and necklace. They are paraded all around the area of the festival. Apart from this, there is also a Food Festival, also known as Fandango. This three-day festival has stalls of varieties of food like Tandoor, Garam Masala, Seafood, Pastry and so on. There is also Nishigandhi Dance Festival where you get to witness the captivating dance form and the rich heritage of India. It includes different dance forms like Mohiniyattam, Kathak, Odissi, and Bharatanatyam.
Last but not least, Kovalam also celebrates the Swati Thirunal Music Festival, which lasts for a week. It features Hindustani classical music and Carnatic. It is held as a tribute to the great Swati Thirunal.
